St. William Church Additions and Renovations  |  Naples, FL

The St. William Church project entails the addition of seating, the creation of a more liturgically appropriate Sanctuary, and the provision of a place of Reservation for the Blessed Sacrament. Obtaining an appropriate space for devotion at the Blessed Sacrament has been paramount for the St. William community. The proposed design delineates such a space within the global upgrade strategy for the church, where parishioners may worship in a more intimate setting while still tying the Blessed Sacrament directly into the main sanctuary space.

The addition of a Narthex wing provides additional function, including the following spaces: a main gathering area, meeting rooms, a reception room, sacristy, gift shop, rooms for Eucharistic Ministers and ushers, and toilet rooms. The Existing Parish Hall and its ancillary spaces are expanded.

The project is designed to maintain the unpretentious aesthetics of the original church while increasing its efficiency and function. The simple massing of South Florida Spanish Colonial precedent is referenced in the building’s straightforward gabled roof approach and covered walkway to unify the existing Church, Narthex wing and Parish Hall.
