Additions, Renovations

The 14,249 SF reconfiguration of the 652 seat St. Margaret Church entailed additions and renovations to existing facility. The additions and reconfigurations doubled the church’s seating capacity. Also included in the additions: sacristies and a lower level multi-purpose area with kitchen. A new gathering plaza was created off of the lower level multi-purpose zone. In this manner, the church’s space planning afforded community and worship space functions to exist in close proximity within the same structure.

A simplified vocabulary of primary geometric forms and reference to early masonry constructional techniques was employed to infuse the addition with the rich legacy of church architecture within a modern application. All liturgical elements were designed by the architect.
