This project entails the adaptive re-use of an existing, single story, strip mall, retail building into a courthouse. In addition to meeting functional programmatic items, the client sought to elevate the existing structure into positive addition to the community and evocation of civic life. Through the adroit understanding and application of materials and details, the courthouse establishes an environment that shows respect for the judicial process.
