Designated as a National Prototype Middle School and noted by American School and University, the Killingly Middle School separates grades 5 and 6 from grades 7 and 8 on separate wings and floors while providing direct access by all to common facilities. Each grade occupies its own floor with independent access to performance, physical education, and media stations. Separate, secure public access is provided for use of auditorium and athletic facilities by the community.
